Belfast-based Medizar, maker of anti-bacterial and microbial sanitizers which are 100% alcohol free, has increased its business investment in the Middle East by a £250,000.
The company has already been supplying its products to the United Arab Emirates and Qatar since 2013, and was able to obtain additional contracts after participating in an Invest NI sponsored trip to the Arab Health Exhibit which took place in Dubai in January.
Director of Trade of Invest NI, Olive Hill said:
“Medizar made contact with a major Saudi distributor. A follow-up visit took place this summer where they discussed terms of a distribution agreement and were successful in securing a deal to supply products worth £250,000 over the next two years. Making the commitment and visiting the potential customer for a follow-up visit was the key to converting the initial meeting into a firm contract and is a strong endorsement of the company’s desire to succeed.”
Jeffrey Prince, managing director of Medizar commented:
“We are very excited by the business opportunities, particularly in Saudi Arabia, and our next steps will be to develop the business base we have created to enhance our market position and generate additional sales.”
