In order to make the process of transferring a commercial visit visa to a work visa easier in Kuwait, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor has decided to no longer require applicants from having a university degree in order to do so, in a limited number of technical professions.
Mohammad Al-Kandaria, the undersecretary for social affairs, said that his ministry wanted to make it more convenient and simpler for employees who want to change their visa. Al-Kandari explained that there are a few government companies that can benefit from transferring visit visas to work permits. Right now the law allows such a transfer relatively easily, but the companies say it will be easier and faster to make the change if some of the requirements are eased.
