For the fourth year in a row Qatar Airways was chosen as the “Best Middle East Airline” by readers in China of Business Traveler Asia Pacific. The award was bestowed on the airline during the 22nd annual Business Traveler Asia Pacific Awards which took place in Hong Kong.
The awards represent the highest honor given by the readers of Business Traveler to hospitality and travel service providers, in 56 separate categories. Readers of this publication are among the most traveled in the region. Their participation in the vote was organized by Ipsos from April to June in 2013, which decided the winners.
The country manager of Greater China, Jared Lee, said when he accepted the award on behalf of the airline that,
“It is a great pleasure to accept this award on behalf of Qatar Airways from such an important travel publication. The airline is pleased with this recognition from its readers.”
CEO of Qatar Airways Akbar Al Baker added that:
“We are pleased to be recognized by our passengers for the products and services that we offer, not only in China but throughout our network. And for that we thank our passengers in this region for their vote of confidence and will continue to give our customers increased options as they travel, whether it is for business or leisure.”
“Over the last ten years, our services to Hong Kong and mainland China have been on a steady incline. Just last month we launched our sixth destination, Chengdu, and are already looking towards further expansion. In the next few months we look forward to adding even more routes to our international network of over 130 destinations as well as increasing the capacity on existing sectors.”
